Inbuilt Wiring Replacement

Postby reefbreak on October 2nd, 2008, 11:34 am

Hi

I need some advice, my stroke coach was built into my single, with little holes through which the wire flows.

It looks ever so neat however i need to replace the wiring as it doesnt work any more and both the unit and magnet are fine.

I have been told i need to

Cut it
feed it through the holes
resolder it back together
But tape on the newly soldered bit (this bit will lie in the stern hatch)

any advice that goes into a bit more detail would be great as at $50 a pop i cant afford to not do it corre t.

Hi Reefbreak,

Are you sure it's the wiring and not the sensor that needs replacing? I'm concerned this would be a lot of work for naught if you find out the sensor is the part that needs replacing (unless the wire has been cut somehow and clearly is the part in need of replacing). Please let me know, thanks!

Hi,
I am using a custom built boat from Kaschper with wiring built in and cannot see or manually get to the magnet or whatever it is that the magnet attached to the seat goes over. Consequently i cannot place the seat magnate properly.

Also is the blue magnet where the propeller is supposed to be placed?

thanks,
